Soulful Singing Sundays

On Sunday 14 March from 7pm Teresa Lipinski is once again our joyful host for our Soulful Singing Sunday, and she’ll be teaching us some harmonies and songs for you to sing along with, in the comfort of your own home. And unheard by all!

Here’s a bit about our host:

Teresa Lipinski

Teresa is based in West Yorkshire, where she lives with her husband and two daughters. She has sung all her life and has performed as a vocalist in every place she has lived, including 20 years in Krakow, Poland. She believes passionately in the therapeutic benefits of singing and loves connecting people and communities through singing.

Normal Sunday sessions with Teresa will always start with a warm welcome and check-in with the participants, followed by gentle full body and vocal warm ups and breathing exercises. Together, step by step, you will learn to sing a couple of songs. The songs may be simple rounds, a beautiful Native American folk song or a simple, meditative-like mantra. Whatever the song, Teresa will gently lead and encourage you, so that you leave the session with a couple of new tunes under your belt! Each session will end with a poem or short meditation.

For those of you new to singing on Zoom or nervous about singing in front of others, please know that during the majority of the session, no one will be able to hear you! The only part of the session when we will all be able to hear one another is during the warm up exercises. For the singing, you will all be muted and will only hear mine or Alex’s voice so you can sing along with us.

Alex Lipinski  – Hosts alternative Soulful Singing Sundays

The first thing that hits you is the voice. From caressing sympathy to full-throated resentment, Alex Lipinski has grabbed unwary listeners from the West Country to Krakow, Berlin and New York, since he first left Somerset to become a crucial habitué of Soho’s legendary, lost 12-Bar Club. He has followed in the footsteps of his hero Dylan to write in the Chelsea Hotel, and sung songs in the home of an admiring Liam Gallagher, who is a firm champion.

A brief tenure heading up Phoneys & The Freaks with Oasis’s Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs brought forth an EP, festival appearances and touring in the U.S and Italy. Lipinski’s latest album ‘ALEX’ was recorded and produced in Berlin by Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre) and released on Anton’s ‘A’ Recordings label. Hailed by Newcombe as, “a young man worth my time and efforts. I appreciate his endless hard work and do it yourself ethics. Make no mistake, these songs have all the qualities of timeless music.”
